Yesterday RBS reported smaller losses than expected, today it’s the turn of Lloyds Banking Group. Some city experts predict more than £6 billion in losses. We, the taxpayer, currently own 41% of the bank which, as the owner of Halifax, is the country’s largest mortgage lender. The pound is now performing worse than the euro this year, in spite of Greece’s troubles. The latest fall was triggered by figures that showed business investment in the UK fell for the 6th consecutive quarter. Finally, Wikipedia is the fifth most popular website in the world with 14 million entries in nearly 300 languages. Last week it got a whopping $2 million gift from Google.
