Money: BA Losses – 5th Feb 10

British Airways’ third quarter results are out, and after serious industrial relations problems, as well as a fall in revenues, it has been a difficult year for them. Today is the department of Business, Innovation and Skills consultation deadline for their Spectrum plan and if the T-Mobile and Orange merger goes through, critics fear the new firm will have too much power. We also look at how sugar prices are at a near 30 year high, and could in fact treble by the end of the year. Finally, the Bank of England’s plan to put more five pound notes into circulation has been taken up by one ATM company, whose machines only circulate fivers.
