Exactly a year ago the American investment guru Jim Rogers claimed sterling was “finished”, but yesterday, the pound closed at a four month high against the Euro, up 7 per cent from twelve months ago. China’s economy grew by 10.7 percent in the final quarter of the year, compared to 2008. It could mean that China has overtaken Japan as the worlds second largest economy. Finally, the Court of Appeal is due to give its final decision today on whether BSkyB should be forced to reduce its stake in ITV.
